Questionnaire
Before I could produce my magazine, I had to conduct a questionnaire in order to find out more about my target audience. I went into Liverpool City Centre and asked 20 different people within my target audience different questions that could help with the production of my magazine. I then compiled my results on a website called Zoomerang.

Rough Layout of Front Cover
I produced a rough sketch of my magazine front cover including where the title, issue date, price and coverlines would go.
Plans for Front Cover and Contents Page
Before I could start creating my school magazine, I had to plan out both the front cover and contents page. Below is an image of the notes I made:
For my front cover I had to decide on a title for the magazine, the coverlines and the details of the main image.
For the contents page I had to make a list of regular content, a list of 10 features and a list of the images I wanted to include.
I also made a mind map to help my decide on a title:

Photography Shot Types
In class we were given a photography task to complete which involved us being given a list of different shots that we had to take as acurately as possible. Below are the photographs I took. Some of the shots I took are slightly wrong (for example some of them are too far away or close), however this is something I can work on.

Introduction
I am a year 12 student and have decided to study Media as one of my a levels. I have been given a brief that I must stick to. Firstly, I have to take part in a preliminary exercise, this means using desktop publisher and an image manipulation program to produce the front cover of a new school magazine. It must feature a medium close-up of a student, some text laid-out appropriately and a masthead. I must also produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page demonstrating my grasp of desktop publisher.
Secondly, I have to complete a main task. For this I must produce a front cover, contents page and a double page spread for a new music magazine. Any images and text that I use throughout must be my own work.
I will be using Blogger to record any work I complete.
