Epic - Double Page Spread Production

I created my double page spread using the same programme as my contents page, QuarkXPress. I created it in a similar way to my contents page as I again used my audience research to make decisions. I also used issues of magazines dedicated to the same gerne to decide on a layout and to help write the article.

Epic - Contents Page Production

For my contents page for Epic, I used my audience research in order to make decisions that effected the way the contents page was presented. A major decision I made using the audience research was the colour scheme, my audience identified purple and black as some of their favourite colours when asked. However, I had already used these for the front cover so I used other colours they identified and settled on red, blue and black.

Epic - Front Cover Production

To create my front cover I used Adobe Photoshop. In order to create it I used my audience research when it came to making decisions. For example, the colours and cover lines were all created using what my target audience identified. The cover lines are bands that were identified as some of my target audience's favourites, along with the colours used.

This video shows some of the photographs that I took for my music magazine front cover. Some of the photographs didn't work because of their framing and others because the image did not convey the rock music genre as well as they should. However, the photograph I plan on using is in the video above.
